Single & Two Plane Dynamic Balancing

Single & Two Plane

At All Terrain Engineering, we offer both single-plane and two-plane rotor balancing tailored to suit the size, shape, and application of your rotating components. Whether you're running a small fan or a long industrial drum, our balancing services eliminate vibration, protects your equipment, and keep operations running smoothly.

What’s the difference?

SINGLE-PLANE BALANCING

Used for short, rigid rotors, single-plane balancing corrects mass distribution in one central plane. It’s ideal for components like:

  • SMALL FANS

  • PULLEYS

  • FLYWHEELS

  • AEROPLANE PROPELLERS

TWO-PLANE BALANCING

Applied to longer or more flexible rotors, two-plane balancing adjusts weight distribution at both ends of the rotor. It’s essential for:

  1. FLAIL MOTORS

  2. DRUMS

  3. INDUSTRIAL ROLLERS

  4. SHAFTS WITH SIGNIFICANT AXIAL LENGTH

How we choose the right method

Our experienced technicians assess the rotor’s size, shape, weight, and application to determine the most effective balancing approach. Choosing the right method ensures:

  • BETTER BALANCE ACCURACY
  • REDUCED MECHANICAL STRESS
  • IMPROVED OPERATING EFFICIENCY

We use hard bearing balancing machines, vibration sensors, and phase-angle analysis to deliver high-precision results every time.

Our Balancing Capabilities Include:

  • Single & two-plane correction on rotors up to 3m in length
  • In-house or on-site service depending on your needs
  • Balancing of components from fans to forestry machinery
  • Rotor straightening prior to balance (if bent/damaged)
  • Post-balancing verification with vibration reporting (on request)

Choosing the right balancing method is key to long-term machine reliability and safety.
